Esta caña agria es especial por varias razones: está nueva a la ciencia y está muy poco cultivada, es nativa a Chiriquí, produce las flores desde la base, y goza de sitios inundados.
Crece hasta los 4 metros de alto, luce mejor en un poco de sombra, y quiere los pies mojados, que sea en terreno un poco rocoso o totalmente lodoso.

It grows to 12 feet tall. It looks best when grown in slight shade, and it loves to have its feet wet, whether in rocky soil or pure mud.
