Siamanthus fue descrita para la ciencia por un amigo, John Mood con un colega. Hay una sola especie en el genero y ha sido recolectada una sola vez, en la cima de una montaña en Tailandia. Puede ser el jengibre mas raro con una flor de este tamaño. En adicion a todo esa ciencia, es una planta bella!
Crece a 2 metros en sol y sombra.
 
Siamanthus was described by a friend, John Mood and a colleague. There is just one species in the genus, and the plant has been collected just once, at the top of a mountain in Thailand. This is probably the rarest ginger with a flower this size in the world.  In addition to all these scientific tidbits, the plant is gorgeous!
Grows 4-6 feet in dappled sun.
